Roid Rage!

I would say today was a calm, quiet day, except for the fact that Selene seemed to be raging on something. The nurse said it was likely the steroids. If she wasn't hooked up to tubes that we have to be so careful with it would have been hysterical. Shredding paper, making crazy noises, bouncing off the walls. She didn't nap today, she spent the hour laying in her crib, yelling at me, kicking the rails and asking to go outside. But then again she fell asleep at bedtime in .02 seconds, so there's that!

Other than that the hospital is a quiet place on the weekends. All of the volunteers and teams are great but Friday was overwhelming! Here's to hoping we get a handle on schedules.

Tomorrow will be a big day. It's my first day alone as Dan heads back to work and then spends the night with Ainsley, Interventional Radiology will be checking Selene's central line to decide whether it needs another surgery to be fixed and it will be her first day on the intense Chemo, Busulfan, which starts at 2am. The nurse said nausea can start immediately but that things like ulcers will take a few days to develop. I'm really hoping we escape this without too many side effects.

We also are having some issues getting out for walks and to the playroom because someone is refusing to wear their "maks".

One more day of this journey complete!

First we did 10 laps with her pushing, because that's fun.

Cruising the halls between the double doors.

A few quiet moments were had, they usually involved junk food.

Daddy took advantage of the few moments of calmness provided by Benadryl

She seems calm here but she was frantically shredding a piece of paper.

Getting ready for bath! "They aren't all this cute." Nurse Lauren was a sweetheart!

Bedtime snuggles with my strong, brave, weirdo :-)
